I'm off this afternoon to paint with the Rivers Edge group. Yeah, painting practice again!
You wouldn't think ordering gold wire would be a hard thing to do. My regular supplier is on vacation so I had to try someone else on Ebay. Paypal decided I should not be allowed to pay with my debit card. To make a long story short, it took me two days to get it paid for.

Earrings to match the last batch of bracelets in copper and sterling silver. I'm getting lots of compliments on how these look. Everybody really likes them. I painted that scrap piece of silk finally. The resisted I used had turned bad, turned to liquid. I thought I'd give it a try and just added some more of the good resist to it, didn't work. The paint broke through the resist lines and made a mess. Interesting affect but now I know if the resist has turned to liquid, dump it out. Anyhow I'm still going to mount this on a canvas or board to see what that looks like. Chris is supposedly making me some more frames for the silks but I need a backup plan for these silks in case I can't get the frames. I've added the pendants to the jewelry for sale page. Some are paired with earrings and bracelets. If you are interested in something in a set but want to purchase just that item, let me know. I'm happy to swap sets around or break them up. I'm looking for a source of reasonably priced chains for the pendants and until I find that I'm selling them without chains. Just slide them onto your favorite necklace. I delivered the photo memory quilt to Carlene today. It made her cry a little, tears of joy. So of coarse I had to well up a little. I can't see someone else cry without jumping right in there with them. I'm glad she liked it, I enjoyed making it for her, sweet lady.
I ordered some sterling silver wire today so I'll soon have the watercolor jewelry available in sterling silver. I am not happy with how the silver craft wire turns out. A few more sales and I'll order the gold wire and get a few done up in gold. Maybe a few neutrals? Wow, busy two days. I got some more pendants just about done, just need to varnish the back. I'm working on a small silk piece, playing with an idea, trying to work something out. My carpenter still hasn't shown up to make me some more frames for the silks so I'm going to try something different. I like them mounted in the open frame but I can't wait on my him forever. I'll try mounting this on on a canvas and see if I like it that way. I also got to paint! Yeah! Larry's on the fabric, painted and the borders on. I'm not sure if I'll start on him tomorrow or paint the silk? Either way should be a good day. He's looking pretty good even in the "ugly" stage. I think he'll turn out really well. And to top it all off I got my taxes done and two thirds of the dining room carpet shampooed. It's amazing what can happen with a little encouragement, when someone tells you they believe in you and your talent. I'm going to try to hold on to that feeling as long as possible. Who knows when it will happen again. I added the bracelet and earring sets to the for sale page. These first few in silver are made with craft wire and I am selling them for less then the next batch which will be in sterling silver. The copper ones are a little more then the silver because of the wire gauge. All are watercolor paper mounted to wire armatures and varnished to withstand everyday wear. Semi-waterproof, a splash won't hurt them but I wouldn't wear them in the showe |
